First-generation disciple of Olohe Solomon Kaihewalu, Michael Manu has accepted her duty is promoting and protecting the Lua of the Kaihewalu lineage. Inducted into the Martial Arts History Museum's Hall of Fame in 2016, kumu Manu has become the biggest advocate for Lua in the world. She also made it her priority to carry on the tradition of making Lua weaponry by preserving the historic Kaihewalu design integrity. Manu is also recognized for her women's empowerment and self-defense training program for those in higher risk professions.
