Jeff Chan is recognized as the pioneer of Chinese Lion Dancing in the Western World. Starting in the 1950s, he has done more to promote the art than any other practitioner in America. As the founder and head of the performance group called the "Immortals," Chan continues to play a key role in bringing awareness to Chinese culture. In 1965, his lion group graced the cover of Black Belt magazine. Jeff Chan was honored by the Martial Arts History Museum by being inducted into their prestigious Hall of Fame in 2008.
